RT @katecrawford: Why would you want to track periods? I mean, gross, and what about girl germs, and NO GIRLS ALLOWED. http://t.co/RUqkPuhQ…

RT @katecrawford: That goes straight into the canon of how gender is built into tech, and why less diversity produces less innovation.

You got it.

Thanks to all of you, esp @elotroalex; it was great! #cualtac

It’s also in heavy-duty use in libraries, which is needless to say a HUGE problem.

God, yes. And how awful is that.

I’m sorry not to be at #ARLforum14 on the scholarly monograph today, but am instead meeting with the MLA Publications Committee. #notdead

Safe travels, Ethan!

Continued safe travels, Ethan!

Holy crap, Tim! Sending you good healing thoughts in all ways.

Just a little Sunday morning security audit. Updating old and weak logins, and being super grateful for @1Password.

I like it. I’ve used it for several years and it has improved significantly over that time.

Takes a bit to get set up but once you do it’s quite easy to use.

Alas, yes — we haven’t made any official statements on the issue.

I’ve been beta testing on one machine, and it took a bit but it really grew on me, looks-wise. Not sure what that means, but.

Aw, thanks! I’m a huge fan of what you’re doing there!

Folks, if you’re watching, #ISS2014 is the 2014 Ithaka Sustainable Scholarship meeting. Now, Marty Kagan on “Lessons from Silicon Valley.”

Sigh. That’s Cagan, not Kagan. #iss2014

Oy. That’s a serious chunk of time. Sending you good healing thoughts, Tim!

Thinking about you today, @tcarmody. Be well.

@tcarmody Just saw that the surgery was cancelled. Thinking about you anyway!

Wow! // MT @FolgerResearch: What can be done w/ Folger Digital Texts: JSTOR Labs links Shakespeare lines to articles! http://labs.jstor.org/shakespeare/

RT @wynkenhimself: One of the interesting possibilities for that JSTOR labs/Folger project is as a discovery mechanism: I'm seeing articles…

RT @wynkenhimself: I'm also looking forward to the day when it can be used as a database for exploring trends in scholarship over time.

Hey, there you are! I hope you’re feeling well and not in too much pain.

Ooh, nerve block is a good thing. I send wishes for the easiest possible next steps.

Owie. I’m so sorry. Hoping things improve quickly for you.

I will now imagine a tap-dancing entrance.

This is exactly why I’ve just switched to @TMobile.

Alas, I am in a totally typical time zone. Up at 4.30am for a flight. What could be more natural?

PS: Response to your email coming later this very same year, I promise. :)

For a 14-hour flight, that’s some serious karma.

Thanks so much for the hashtag and for Storifying!

Did you ever get to see the Skyspace at Pomona? One of my favorite things on campus.

I don’t know how the one at Rice functions, but Pomona’s is a great combination of site-specific and digital; it connects to the +

weather service & puts together a sunrise & sunset light display keyed to the sky conditions.

Nice! Here’s the Pomona one. http://www.pomona.edu/museum/collections/james-turrell-skyspace.aspx
