Congratulations! That’s fantastic.

Yay, go you!

This is amazingly cool. Very much looking forward to experimenting! https://twitter.com/ManifoldScholar/status/849335990644862979

Over the last few days, http://plannedobsolescence.net and http://anxietyofobsolescence.com migrated to @ReclaimHosting, and I couldn’t be happier.

Or, tb a bit more h about it: @ReclaimHosting migrated the sites $$and their subsites$$ for me. And everything is now WAY faster than before.

And I am *super* happy to support this project, which helps students and educators maintain domains of their own. https://reclaimhosting.com/

Oooh, congrats! This is exciting!

It is worth a conversation with them to find out!

Woo hoo! Congratulations!!!

This. We credit labor we consider professional — and we need to be way more conscious of that. https://twitter.com/martin_eve/status/848848555485876225

Aw, thank you for saying so!

That is GORGEOUS! Congrats!

Truly. United is the worst, except for all the rest of them. https://twitter.com/jwolman/status/851454500560789504

What happened is appalling, but boycotting the airline won’t help. They didn’t inflict the violence. Airport police did.

Like so much else, this is about police violence. It could have happened on any airline.

Whether the airline had a right to ask that the passenger be removed from the plane — is a question. But airport police are responsible.

Ooh, excellent. Thanks for the link!

I am aware of that. And I am disturbed. But pinning this on one airline ignores that it’s a more systemic problem.

For this appalling response, however, the airline is fully responsible. https://twitter.com/united/status/851471781827420160

And they wonder why I wanted to migrate to @ReclaimHosting. $$The solution the host I am leaving proposes is — surprise — a pricey upgrade\!$$

Just scrolled through hours of Twitter backlog $$I’ve been in meetings since noon$$ and can I just say O. M. F. G?

It’s a glorious ode in and of itself, and you are probably in great need of a palate cleanser for your brain right about now. https://twitter.com/hels/status/851902124715905024

WORTH IT.

If the dumpster turned out to be on top of a buried gas tank, and next to a store of explosives, yes!

Just flabbergasting.

A new contender for PR Week’s Communicator of the Year. https://twitter.com/meakoopa/status/851917163275440128

The press has bizarrely mischaracterized by statements by airing me saying them myself.

Ugh, *my. My thumbs are as flabbergasted as I am.

I hope this is the last thing I’ll have to say on the subject: Sean Spicer should seriously reconsider his policy of saying words in public.

It started with the merger. Continental was awesome & had a positive employee culture. United… was different. And that caught.

Wait, though, I just contradicted myself. It didn’t start with the merger, except for us Continentals. United’s been what it is.

Quite!

Woo hoo!

Yes, exactly!!!

In Stockholm, on my way to Mötesplats Open Access 2017: http://www.kb.se/openaccess/Konferenser-och-seminarier/Motesplats-Open-Access/2017/

I should probably feel bad that my first dinner in Sweden was a burger in the hotel bar. But surprise, the burger turned out to be lamb and

was probably the best lamb burger I’ve ever had. So, win.

$$Also, the hotel bar is great and is also in my hotel, so I can let the jet lag overtake me whenever\.$$

Ha! I am sure there will be herring to follow.

Less than 20, if I’m doing the math right. Which is admittedly a real question.

Thanks! I don’t think I can top Lyon for lovely, but I’ll work on it.

Were you in Stockholm? I’m in Karlstad, which may be a little more manageable.

Uh, I think “tête du vache” would likely have had me looking for a veggie burger, too. Glad it turned out so well!

But then again, given the Macron graffiti you ran into, “tête de vache” could well be cash burger! So maybe a missed opportunity.

Hmmm. I went to a conference in Göteborg a few years back, and I do recall things being on the pricier end. We’ll see how my math here did!

Thank you for the kind response. My jet lag-addled brain kinda butchered the joke, but you got what I was going for.

Oh dear. The last time I was here I was way north and it was December, so there’s a different sun-related experience this time.

Reading Fareed Zakaria’s In Defense of a Liberal Education. Boy this bit about the apoliticality of millennials didn’t age well.
