Woo hoo!

Haven’t gotten to read this yet, but super looking forward to it. https://twitter.com/juancommander/status/1046832816640552960

So thrilled to be here for this, and in such amazing company! https://twitter.com/HRIatIllinois/status/1047957940043489280

I am sliding back and forth between incandescent take-to-the-streets rage and bleak take-to-my-bed despair.

The absolute least.

I’ve been at a $$fantastic$$ conference all day and am sitting at the $$excellent$$ dinner and fantasizing about throwing bricks and/or sleeping for a year.

Absolutely. <3

This is the right step for a university committed to the broadest possible public service. I hope that forward-thinking US-based institutions might follow suit. The competition serves none of us well. https://twitter.com/BirkbeckUoL/status/1049664478357479424

Yes! $$I have such great colleagues\.$$ https://twitter.com/billhd/status/1049742317270290432

Wait — ROUTLEDGE wasn’t sufficiently academic? At the peak of shaping cultural studies?

I’m delighted to be in Minneapolis today and tomorrow for the Politics and Aesthetics of Obsolescence, sponsored by the Moving Image & Media Studies Graduate Group. https://mimsgg.org/2018/08/31/politics-aesthetics-of-obsolescence-conference/

Okay, if anybody knows what it is that my calendar says I’m “busy” with on November 28, do let me know.

It would be! Alas, it’s an hour and a half block, so I suspect that’s not it. ☹️

That sounds quite reasonable!

If I can’t figure it out, this may be a plan!

I checked, and it’s not that, but I think it’s something *like* that — a personal appointment that I didn’t want to announce to everyone who can see my calendar but that I couldn’t set to “private” on my phone. Figured I’d fill in the details later… and didn’t.

This position is centered at OSU but is a key part of an exciting collaboration with MSU. https://twitter.com/isaacweiner27/status/1051833750848458757

One good place to build such a site? @humcommons https://hcommons.org https://twitter.com/alicetiara/status/1052185402054979585

Hey, self-knowledge is an important thing, especially among internet doppelgängers.

I usually wait until about 2:30 am to remember those.

You joke. But I’ve spent the years since getting promoted to full writing terms of service and bylaws.

Somebody did this at my institution with my dean the other day. The good news is I was sitting directly across the table from him at the time the message was sent.

Except the message just asked it I was available. I have wondered what would have ensued if I had responded.

Hey, excellent! Congratulations — it looks fantastic!

I’m so pleased with that! I hope the book lives up to it.

Replying to @drbruceherbert, @pmhswe and @amyeetx

Hey, fantastic!

I so feel this, Amanda. I went through a huge “something needs to shift” myself over the last several years. The changes were slow in coming, but privileging life over work $$and community over individual accomplishment$$ has been at their heart. Sending you all my best!

I drove to city hall this afternoon and turned in my absentee ballot. In doing so, I saved $0.80 in postage and paid$1.85 in parking. But considering the crap luck I’ve had with absentee voting in the past $$I’m looking at you, 2016$$, I’m taking no ... https://kfitz.info/22-october-2018-1734/

Seriously. I did the index on my first book and vowed NEVER AGAIN. You have way more fortitude than I do.

It is seriously an art. And not at all one I have an aptitude for. I have HUGE respect for those who do!

This looks like a great pairing, indeed! https://twitter.com/davidstaley8/status/1054706495647027201

Ugh, fingers crossed for you!

I... guess that’s not as bad as it could be?

Indeed! I care wayyyy more about her index than many of my own projects.

Focus. https://kfitz.info/focus/

Day 1 of my attempt to return to early-morning focus. It was challenging, but I’m hoping that it might help create some much needed clarity for the day $$and days$$ ahead. https://kfitz.info/focus

This could turn out to be the perfect demonstration either of the ways the field turns on itself or of its logrolling self-regard. Either way, ❤️ https://twitter.com/katiefitzpat/status/1056918006847102976

Thank you! I’m pretty excited about it.
